We went to the UK for a quick trip and had chance for a fun girls day out in the vibrant beautiful capital, London. Here are a few memories of our visit to London, the best places to visit and what to do!
Getting around London was simple, the best way of travel is the London Underground, and for around $24 SGD you can get an all day travel pass to go anywhere in the city. Our first stop was a fab fine dining restaurant near Trafalgar Square, called Bronte, with a western and Asian menu the blend of flavours were mouth watering. The must tries are the Endamame & Kale pancakes, and the Hoi Sin & Honey Glazed Beef. Not forgetting to wash it down with a fun girly cocktail…or two!
The next stop on our girls day out was at the Savoy Theatre, in the city of Westminster, which was opened in 1881! If not to see a show, a visit at this iconic old building for a picture is still worth it. We saw the award winning musical production Dreamgirls and is a must see when visiting London this summer. The production featured Glee star Amber Riley , her powerhouse performance gave me shivers! It was sensational from start to finish and be sure to shed a few tears!
A scenic walk from Savoy Theatre along the river thames takes you to the beautiful Buckingham Palace ; home to all of Britain’s monarchs. Luckily we had a sunny day and enjoyed the flowers and beautiful scenery around the palace too in St. James Park.
Our last stop before heading home (and definitely having walked our 10,000 steps for the day!) was Covent Garden. It is bustling with culture, shops, eateries and street performers. This summer it has been adorned with beautiful floral displays and is known historically as Westminster Abbeys ‘orchard garden’.
