1) What makes you so interested in fashion and design?
Every since I was a young girl, I have always been fascinated with all things related to fashion. I am a day-dreamer and fashion has always been my dream, and I know I am destined to create beauty. I am lucky to have supportive parents who believe in the career I chose.
2) What made you want to work at House of Sheens?
House of Sheens, is the beginning of everything. I love to learn, especially fashion marketing and brand communication. I want to dig deeper into the customer’s shopping behavior and also meet new people.
3) Where do you see scope for upcoming designers in Singapore? What would you like to see changed?
In Singapore, there are many opportunities for emerging designers, especially to celebrate Singapore’s art and culture. I would like to encourage young designers, like myself to embrace and be proud of it and always have a humble start.
4) Who are your mentors in the world of fashion?
I may not have a very influential personal mentor in the industry at the moment. But I would say Shireena, Managing Director of House of Sheens, has been encouraging and very patient with me, and believes that beyond my weaknesses there is strength and greatness.
5) Where do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from the woman I envision wearing a particular collection I am designing. I love architecture and nature, and I love to experiment with different elements and see how these two different elements come together and are unified as an art, and translates in to the collection.
